Tablet-specific notes
Exit split-screen or Stage Manager first. Multitasking modes common on iPad and larger Android tablets constrain the browser to part of the screen — this tool can only go fullscreen within the space it’s given. Close any split-screen or floating window mode before testing so the fullscreen field covers the entire panel.
ProMotion / high refresh-rate tablets. Some iPads and premium Android tablets run at 120Hz. The refresh rate test here is a rough in-browser estimate and, on these devices, is more likely to be capped by the browser’s own rendering rate than to reflect the panel’s true maximum — treat it as a sanity check, not a precise spec measurement.
A tablet is a genuinely good improvised light. The larger panel size compared to a phone makes a tablet at full white brightness a noticeably better stand-in fill light for video calls or reading in bed than a phone screen — prop it up rather than holding it for a steadier, broader light source.
Uniformity matters more on a bigger panel. Backlight bleed and clouding are generally easier to spot on a tablet-sized LCD than on a phone, simply because there’s more surface area for unevenness to show across — worth a proper uniformity test pass if you’re considering a return.
