White Screen for iPhone

Turn off True Tone before checking colour. True Tone shifts the whole display warmer to match your room’s ambient lighting — it’s the single most common reason an iPhone screen “looks yellow” compared to another device. Auto-brightness reacts to the white screen itself. The ambient light sensor sits near the front camera — pointing a bright white fullscreen at your face in a dim room can trigger the phone to dim in response, which looks like a fault. Settings → Accessibility → Display & Text Size → Auto-Brightness, off, for a stable reading.

Safari’s fullscreen isn’t quite the same as native fullscreen. Safari on iOS doesn’t support the same Fullscreen API as desktop browsers — the tool still fills the available viewport, but you may see a thin bar at the very top unless you use “Add to Home Screen,” which launches the page in standalone mode (no browser chrome at all) the next time you open it.

Dynamic Island / notch. Because iPhone displays are OLED, the white field does extend right up to and around the cutout — there’s no backlight bleeding through to hide, unlike an LCD phone. This makes iPhones one of the better devices for spotting a genuinely dead pixel near the edge of the screen.
